About
MY STORY SO FAR...
I've been steady with music and my development as a guitar player since childhood. I never took a lesson. I learned to play by ear. My idea of a "guitar lesson" was playing my favorite albums on repeat for hours on end until I got them right. Starting out one note at a time, one chord at a time, one scale at a time, I eventually sorted it all out! Or something like that. To this day I still look back and laugh at how I learned to play. I didn't own a tuner or a book of chords and scales until I'd been playing for almost two years. Pretty backwards huh?!
Over the years, I've shared the stage with many bands (The Sounds, Graveyard, Sebastian Bach, Falling In Reverse, Bowling For Soup, Orgy, Kill Hannah, Bloodhound Gang, Donnie Iris & the Cruisers, Hinder, Saving Able, Motion City Soundtrack, Pussycat Dolls) as well as sharing the bill with such acts as Guns 'N Roses, Bush & Motley Crue. I have also done studio work for many albums by other national artists.
By the time I was in my early 20's, I had already began to gain some ground in music. My first band Cherry Monroe signed with Universal Records and our album "The Good, The Bad and The Beautiful" was released in September of 2005. Cherry Monroe toured for the next two years. With national radio play, our first single "Satellites" hit #85 on the Billboard Top 100. Several of our songs were also used in television and national radio including MTV, WE, Animal Planet and Howard Stern. The song "Can't Explain" was included on a Nickelodeon soundtrack mixed by Butch Walker (Marvelous 3, Butch Walker).
In mid 2006, the band moved to Los Angeles while recording a third album. While the album was never released, I gained even more valuable studio time working with producer Bernd Bergdorf (Green Day, Pink, Tom Waits). Bernd helped us all become a lot more professional in the studio. I learned stuff from him that I still use to this day! Since then, I have played on several national releases, one of which was for Stand-By Records.
In 2012, I toured with former Cherry Monroe singer Matt Toka. At the time, Matt was a solo artist on Warner Brothers.
I am currently in the LA based band Warner Drive. Warner Drive gained a reputation for touring heavily, playing upwards of 200 shows a year at the time I joined. Warner Drive has 3 full albums (FULLY LOADED, K-GO & City Of Angels). The third album, City Of Angels, was produced by El Hefe from NOFX and released in the summer of 2014 on his label Cyber Tracks. Warner Drive has been spending more time the last few years touring in Europe. There, they have experienced growth and success.
As of 2016, Warner Drive has three European tours booked. We are also in the studio recording a fourth album. It will be released later in the year by the Swedish label Roasting House. The first single will be released in June and Warner Drive will be playing Sweden Rock Festival. This year S.R.F. has Queen, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Halestorm, Sixx A.M. and Shinedown among others. A second single will be released in August. That will coincide with a festival tour with bands such as Airborne and W.A.S.P. The album will be released in October and we will return again to do a headlining tour of Germany.
Steady...the best is yet to come!
